I think also this applies at every age up to and including late teens/ young adult. You are doing a great job of bringing up your children, the best job of your life. Well done. I think most kids thrive on predictability so they have a stable base to branch out and explore their own independence from and I like to think about it that way; not that I've been mean or unnecessarily demanding (because I'm really soft in a lot of things!) but because they really seem to appreciate knowing what to expect and what is expected! And aren't we all really like that for the most part? But now that morning chores are just a habit, the thought to whine about them seems to have decreased in favor of just doing them and getting to move onto the next thing! <br />The lights are designed by and made by my husband! I, too, receive many compliments about how well-behaved, obedient and polite my children are. People will ask how I did it and I tell them. It always surprises me how many people tell me that this approach just isn't for them, they don't want to be "hard" on their kids. I don't think I'm hard on them at all. I think they love knowing exactly what is expected of them at all times. I think it only makes life easier and more enjoyable for the whole family. You're doing a great job, keep up the beautiful and productive work.Jennifer Hayshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04685253944514672324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35946782.post-71823596769869670022015-09-09T21:53:34.427-07:002015-09-09T21:53:34.427-07:00How wonderful!
