Meal plan

I am feeling much more optimistic about cooking and cleaning this weekend- I did a good job this week sticking to my meal plan overall - we didn't eat out at all, although I somehow ended up substituting other easier meals on a few nights when I was planning something different, but I don't think I made any rush trips over to Safeway for last minute food items! We didn't eat out at all either. :-D

This week I'm trying the new technique of planning meals based on what I have in my cupboard. We always end up having extra of each grocery we buy since there are only two of us, so we'll see. :) I bought the ecourse Supermarket Savings
since I think Crystal has some interesting ideas on her blog. I probably won't be able to implement all of her ideas since I work full time and don't have much time through the day to go shopping in multiple places, but I thought it was cheap enough to give her a chance. :)

Saturday: We're having a bunch of people over for a Harvest Party complete with pumpkin carving and games... I'll be making Betty Crocker's chili and a pan of cornbread, apple cider, and I just pulled an apple pie out of the oven for tonight!

Sunday: Spaghetti with meat sauce, garlic bread

Monday: chicken noodle soup and squash

Tuesday: Red beans and rice

Wednesday: Dinner out - not sure what the plans are since it's Halloween

Thursday: slow cooker Thai Chicken and rice

Friday: Low-cal enchiladas

Saturday: pancakes and eggs

Extra: WW pumpkin flan
granola
tortilla chips

  1. Good for you, making a meal plan from your pantry! It all looks really delicious. We love spaghetti, and I have a crockpot thai chicken I make, but not that one at AllRecipes. Mine is a little easier, less ingredients, but we really like it :)

    Have a great week :)
