Odds and Ends

As you can see, this week has held a little of this and a little of that!  My dishcloths are all ragged with the hard labor they undertake so I cast on a cheery pink using this pattern.  I also cast on a striped earflap hat for Jesse (not the one I solicited help for last week - he chose a different one after all!) but I am disenchanted because as soon as I joined the earflaps and began the brim (which took three tries to get all the pieces together without twisting!), I could see it is going to be entirely too large.  So I am currently putting off undoing and redoing it!

My little ABC cross-stitch sampler is growing letter by letter; I love it!  Today I picked up materials to sew a little baby carrier for a gift on Rosie's birthday.  Fabric shopping with three little girls involves mainly quick browsing and quick selecting but I think I came out alright!

I am mainly reading Hamlet and Outlander by Diana Gabaldon.  And working slowly through The Inspired Room. And even though it's not reading, I feel like it falls into the same category, I am watching the BBC miniseries of Emma.  I always loved the motion picture from the 90s but this far surpasses it. I am officially a major Jane Austen groupie these days even though I went through a stage where I think I inwardly scoffed at people like me.  Ha!

Joining Ginny for Yarn Along where we discuss our reading and knitting every Wednesday!  Looking forward to seeing what everyone else is working on!

  3. I hate fabric shopping with Miss C. It's painful. I want to watch the Outlander series. I'm stuck on snow and ashes and have been for years. I'll have to start that one over.

  4. That is such cute fabric and will make a perfect little carrier. I have lots of dishcloths in my gift closet. I always seem to have one on the needles for my "mindless" knitting.

  5. Fabric shopping was tough with little ones for me, mainly because I could never browse or select quickly! :) That bright pink dishcloth is so happy and cute that it might actually make me want to do the dishes...maybe. ;) *hugs*

  7. A mini series of Emma? How have I missed that? And I love the fabric! Do you have a pattern for the baby carrier? I have some girls who would love one.
