Weekly memory verse

I ran across a blog in one of the other meme threads a few weeks ago that belongs to another Sarah who seems like a very godly and sweet woman. I've been encouraged by reading her blog posts about thankfulness, and peace and joy seem to exude from her writing. She's doing a weekly memory verse, and I'm joining along, but I'll memorize the English Standard Version, since that's my favorite translation of the Scripture.

Joshua 1:8
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

The thing I love about this verse is the command that Scripture shall not depart from your mouth- my mouth. Although we should meditate and treasure God's word in our hearts, it should also be springing forth from our lips, and this will praise and glorify God - and cause us to find joy in Him. I also like that it commands us to do so day and night; it is an all-the-time command, not just in the morning when you do your devotions, or on Sundays at church or on Wednesdays at Bible study. If you haven't memorized and been in the Word, how can this be? I am too lazy in my faith. I want more of it to spring forth from my lips in the morning and in the evening and all the times in between.
