His Great Love

Jesse and I just returned from a trip to our future home, White Swan on the Yakama Indian Reservation.

We have been struggling to maintain our energy and joy in financial support raising the last few weeks since it sometimes seems impossible to us that the rest of our income will come in - ever.

Of course, what we forget as chronic humans is that what is impossible for man is possible for God.

Sometimes I fall into the trap of thinking that what is difficult for us is also difficult, on some level at least, for God. Like, it's work and a challenge for Him to find people who will support His work through us on the Rez. Or that it takes a lot of time and energy for Him to bless us. But that doesn't sound like the God in Job 38:

Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth...? who shut in the sea with doors when it burst out from the womb...? Have you entered the storehouses of the snow, or have you seen the storehouses of the hail, which I have reserved...? Who has cleft a channel for the torrents of rain and a way for the thunderbolt, to bring rain on a land where no man is, on the desert in which which there is no man, to satisfy the waste and desolate land, and to make the group sprout with grass?

Amazing. It is no challenge or difficulty to God to pour out his provision and blessings on us. He does it daily with his wondrous might. He simply has a perfect plan for us and is working out that plan in our life as we await the mighty ways He will work in our future.

In the meantime, I am marveling at His provision for us today, yesterday, and days past, which is miraculous in so many ways. He will accomplish His work in and through us. We need only wait on His timing and faithfully serve Him in response to His great love for us.
