yarn along- so nice to be back

Oh how I have missed doing Yarn Along posts and checking in on my friends' blogs the past several weeks! We have now moved out of our house and it was supposed to close yesterday but there was a complication so the date was pushed back again- to next week. We got this offer more than three months ago, people. Isn't that obnoxiously long for this process to drag on? In the meantime we are living in our tiny little temporary home while waiting for the next step.  The frantic pace of selling has slowed and I again have little moments here and there to read, write, create, cook real food again.

I finished my Oatmeal Sweater sometime in the middle of all that crazy but haven't had time or space to block it or even go to Ravelry and update my projects. I really love the colors. That's the fun thing about taking a thrifted sweater apart for the yarn- I end up using colors and combos I might not have been brave enough to spend a boatload of yarn money on.  I have hardly worn it because it was tucked away and I only just found it and pulled it out.

My book is one I'm reading along with @maandpamodern on Instagram where there is discussion on the juvenile fiction Wonder, which is about a boy with craniofacial anomalies and his adjustment to going to school rather than being homeschooled and all the challenges and beauties he and his family and friends experience in the process. It's very good, very well written and I have a hard time putting it down at bedtime.

Instead of knitting I've been on a cross-stitching kick, working on a stocking for my Rosie. It won't be finished for this Christmas but I am doing my best! What are you working on these days? I can't wait to grab a few minutes this morning and catch up with you all!
Linking up with Ginny for Yarn Along today.

  1. love your sweater and I do believe the craziness in closing on a house. it's ridiculous with the amount of paperwork and hoops to jump through. I keep hoping you find your dream home soon :)

  3. I've been meaning to comment on your previous post about moving into a temp small space while waiting for the right house to come on the market! Brave woman! I hope things go smoothly with the sale so that that can be behind you and thankful you are squeezing in some time to knit and read here and there! Love your thrifted-yarn sweater.

    1. Thanks Martha! It's certainly not simple but it's amazing how the Lord keeps providing all we need.
